Aufgaben

Position Summary: Facilitates, sets up, builds, calibrates, and assists in the test and breakdown of filling and packaging equipment.  Fills out documentation and test reports associated with these activities as required.

Note: The Assembly Technician II performs all duties of Assembly Technician I, and performs the following duties on the full range of products and equipment including prototype systems, as distinguished from Assembly Technician I, which performs duties on a limited range of smaller assemblies. Work is performed with little direct supervision.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Facilitates equipment applying water, air, electrical power, and leveling machinery in temporary installation
  • Positions and assembles mechanical parts and assemblies for final installation according to blueprints, schematics and/or standard procedures.
  • Performs complex mechanical alignments and calibration of assemblies to written and/or verbally communicated quality standards and other procedures that are used during assembly.
  • Assembles parts using bolts, screws, speed clips, or other fasteners, using hand tools.
  • Assists in mechanical/electrical testing and debugging, gathering and recording test data.
  • The ability to operate calipers, tape measures, squares and levels.
  • Debugs equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and vacuum systems, to support power-up and testing of machines.
  • The ability to operate pneumatic press to straighten parts, use electric hand tools and other machinery to grind, polish, cut, drill, and otherwise modify parts.
  • Able to thoughtfully and competently recommend and document design and process improvements to supervisors and other department representatives including warehouse, machine shop, and engineering.
  • Helps prepare machines for shipment, including cleaning, breakdown of machinery utilities, preparation of miscellaneous items.
  • Maintains and promotes a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
  • Inspects the work of Assembly Technician I – Writes and improve procedures for other technician to follow.
  • May provide guidance for other technicians.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Profil

    BASIC REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Must possess a minimum of 3+ years of direct experience as an assembly technician working in a manufacturing environment

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Ability to interpret blueprints drawings, schematics, technical procedures, and other related material.
    • Ability to read, interpret, and follow safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to follow written and verbal directions to perform to established quality standards.
    • Ability to apply basic mathematical skills to solve technical problems.
    • Proficient in use of assembly related hand, pneumatic, and power tools.
    • Problem Solving: Identifies problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, lift and carry up to 50 pounds on occasion.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
