Aufgaben

SUMMARY: Receives, stores, and distributes items and tools.  Compiles records related to ordering, receiving, storing, and issuing items, supplies, and equipment by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions:

  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
  • Maintains electronic records and files paper records of materials sent.  
  • Determines method of shipment.
  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons. 
  • Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers. 
  • Inserts items into containers.
  • Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape.
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, verify part numbers agree with purchase order, reports damaged items to appropriate personnel, records shortages. 
  • Maintains electronic records using ERP system and files paper records of materials received. 
  • Routes items to departments.
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. 
  • Removes all C.O.D. labels daily so checks can be prepared for pick up at the end of the day. 
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. 
  • Enforces company security policies and procedures.
  • Reads production schedule and work orders to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Operates forklift or uses pallet jack to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily housekeeping activities to ensure a clean and safe work area.
  • Lift a minimum of 50 lb on a regular basis

Profil

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a High school diploma or GED

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Shipping & Receiving experience including international shipping, working with UPS/FedEx and using an ERP system
  • Familiar with blueprint reading
  • Ability to be Fork lift certified
  • Attention to detail
  • Organized and able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, including ability to communicate effectively to the intended audience
  • Excellent MS Office skills, specifically Word, and PowerPoint and Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to follow all safety requirements
