Job Description

The Second Shift Welder/Fabricator is responsible for welding stainless steel and other metals according to print requirements.  In this position you may also cut, form, and finish sheet metal. This position is for someone who is hands on, detail oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision.  Working hours are Monday – Thursday, 2:45pm – 12:45am (flex time available).

 

Responsibilities may include:

  • Maintaining safe operations by adhering to all safety procedures and regulations and alerting management to safety hazards that exist.
  • Determining and completing the optimal work steps, fixturing, and welding procedures, to obtain proper penetration, fusion, strength, offset distortion and alignment with expected quality at or below expected cost.
  • TIG welding of stainless steel
  • Metal finishing work
  • Reading metric and imperial prints
  • Examines work pieces for defects and ensures conformance with specifications
  • Use precision measuring tools to maintain accuracy and quality of parts.
  • Sheetmetal fabrication tasks may include cutting, sanding, tapping, and forming
  • Contributing to cost and lead time reduction through continuous improvements and innovation in manufacturing coming up with creative solutions to produce low volume parts cost effectively
  • Working with the team to keep the work area and equipment clean & organized
  • Performing basic preventive maintenance on the equipment
  • Ensuring smooth handoffs between shifts through regular communication
  • Supporting and complying with all applicable laws, company policies and procedures including HSE, ISO and Quality policies and procedures applicable to the position.
  • Other duties as required by supervisor.

 

Profil

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience welding and an associates or vocational degree in a related technical field OR have an overall combination of at least 3+ years of both education/ training and work experience
  • Experience welding and finishing stainless steel sheet metal
  • TIG welding experience
  • Self-motivated with strong problem solving skills, efficient management of time and resources,  and able to work independently
  • Can read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
  • Proficient in the use of imperial and metric units of measure
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be willing to work overtime, as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with forming sheet metal
  • Experience in a low volume, high mix, manufacturing environment

The expected compensation range for this position is between $48,700.00 – 75,500.00 based on a full-time schedule.

Compensation for roles at Syntegon varies depending on a wide array of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, degree/credentials, relevant skill set, and level of relevant experience.
